Welcome to The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui!
Our goal is to provide a space for local artists to share and sell their artwork in a gallery shop setting. We strive to display artwork that is created on the Hui premises or on the island of Maui, in efforts to encourage local artistic development. We hope to support you as an artist as you support the mission of the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center. Mahalo nui loa for sharing your creativity with us!

Inventory: We are constantly refreshing the inventory in our shop. Anyone interested in having new work in The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui is required to schedule an appointment with The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui coordinator. If your items are accepted into the shop, an appointment with The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui coordinator is required for artists to drop off inventory or to remove items from The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui; all items removed must be accompanied by the Hui’s Return to Artist form (RTA).
Membership: Each artist must be a current member to have artwork displayed in the The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui and is responsible for keeping his/her membership current at all times. Your membership is valid for one year after registration.
Artwork Return: The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui’s coordinator reserves the right to decline artwork and to review your account if items are not selling. Please note that if the Hui contacts you to pick up your artwork, you must do so as soon as possible. You will have one week to pick up your items. The Hui is unable to store unclaimed artwork. If your artwork is left at the Hui for more than one month, the artwork will become a full donation to the Hui.
Pricing: All artists are responsible for filling out The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui inventory form andlabeling their artwork with their name and retail price prior to bringing your items into the Hui. Pricing and Item # can be written in by hand. The item # can be a one word description or your numbering system. The Item# or one word description listed on the inventory tag must be listed the same on your inventory sheet. It is required that all artwork have the artist’s full name somewhere on or attached to the artwork for the customer to read. For example:

Commission: The commission structure is 50/50 (artists receive 50% of sales, and The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui 50% of sales). Commission checks will be paid once a month to each artist by the 25th of the following month. For example, January sales will be paid by the 25th of February. You will need to have a current W9 tax form on file in order to receive commission payments.
Liability: It is understood and agreed that all work displayed at The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui (located on the estate of Kaluanui/Hui No`eau Visual Arts Center) is at the artist’s own risk. Care will be taken in the handling and displaying of all work. The Gallery Shop at Kaluanui or anyone handling the artwork will not assume responsibility for loss or damage to the artwork or frames while on the premises of Kaluanui.
